About Yadan

Early in life, I was unhealthy, sedentary, and undisciplined. I dreamt that there was someone in me who could surpass the limitations put on me by the world and, most importantly, myself. I went on a journey to become that man that I dreamt of. I transformed myself from obese to scrawny. Then from scrawny to typical muscular gym rat. All of this was to become the man that I dreamt of. I then somehow found myself in a community center, starting my first day of Kung Fu to put my “strength” to work and become a hardcore fighter. Instead on displaying my strength, I was exposed. I realized that muscular strength is only one aspect of strength, and I had left other valuable aspects to get weaker and weaker as my chase to be strong dominated my life. For the past three years, I’ve started a new journey, not one to become a dream version of myself but to let out as much of who I am out without limitations put on me by others and myself. I’ve been focusing on balancing my body and mind and thriving to promote wellness internally and externally. This is the wellness that I am trying to help others practice.

My goal as a trainer is to show that wellness starts within and that the unrealistic ideas put on us about being “healthy” is the ego struggling to accept who we are in the present moment. Through self-acceptance, I hope my clients can love their bodies and get them to move and feel as integrated as possible. The client and I can practice fixing improper movement patterns, decreasing pain in the body, and taking the next step in functional fitness that can help us move without limitations to enjoy doing the things we love. Living Well Balanced is the best place I’ve seen to make a fundamental change in your life, and I hope we can all join the wave and grow together.
